So last Friday at work, we were talking about music and how it just isn't quite the same as it used to be. Gone are the legendary bands that put out album after album of classics and memorable b-sides. They have been replaced with Disney pre-teen divas, cookie-cutter rock bands that all sadly sound like Nickelback, and American Idol runners-up. Then the topic shifted to everyone's Top 5 Albums of All-Time. There were rules to the list, of course. Studio albums only, meaning no live albums, and no greatest hits albums. The final rule: Bands are only allowed one album on the list. Everyone had a different interpretation of "All-Time", from greatest selling, to most influential in their lives, to genre changing albums, and beyond. The discussion raged on for hours, and I must say that I had about 40-50 albums that I thought of off the top of my head and about 5 different lists based on my interepretation of "All-Time". I finally decided on my "Deserted Island" list. Those were the 5 albums I would take with me if I had to spend my days on a deserted island. And they were:
5. "Spiritual Machines" - Our Lady Peace
4. "Pretty. Odd." - Panic! At The Disco
3. "The Black Parade" - My Chemical Romance
2. "Hotel California" - Eagles
1. "Rubber Soul" - The Beatles
The question I pose to you is this: What are your Top 5 Albums of All-Time?
